Subliminal Persuasion
Subliminal persuasion is used frequently in advertising banner or some graphic design. It is most used in advertising design. According to many studies, human can perceive information unconciously. The brain analyticizes the information but the mind does no interpret the information for meaning. It just perceives the image or information at the subliminal level.
If you perceive something conciuosly then it is not subliminal or at least not subliminal anymore. Subliminal can occur through many sense:
1. Smell : smell can be used to indicate sth that is delicious. This can be used in bakery. It will appeal the users of some delicious cake.
2.Sight: connotation meaning in image. They can be up side down or distorted or resize smaller so we miss it. This make the image much more meaningful
3.Sound : sound can be placed at level that is higher or lower than the range of conciuos human hearing
4. Touch and taste : the surfaces that we touch can convey information subliminally
The connotation in image are used mostly in advertising design to attract the intention of users.
Following are some image that I found very interesting using subliminal persuasion
This is the advertisement of Guess shoes. This image have connotation meaning that with Guess shoes things become alive. One shoes is put above the other indicate that sexually available.

This is the advertisement of Smirrnoff wine. The lemon slices are put together to form "007" which is the ID of James Bond in the famous film series " 007 spy". This imply that drinking Smirrnoff wine can strengthen you.

Interesting topic. I have heard about it before but I am still impressed by the connotation of advertisement which you present. Particularly, the advertisement of Mirnoff. It is the main sponsor of 007 films' serie. The way they arrange the number 007 really hard to see at the first glance but it still goes into your mind unconciously. It is subliminal.
